The Atletico Mineiro announced the signing of striker Robinho, who has just left theChinese Guangzhou Evergrande as its main reinforcement of face to the CopaLibertadores.
Robinho, of 32 years, signed a contract for two seasons with his new team, the city ofBelo Horizonte club announced in a statement.
In recent weeks, Robinho negotiated with Atlético Mineiro and Santos club wherestriker of the Brazilian national team was formed and who announced his resignationto the signing this Thursday, hours before the confirmation of the agreement betweenthe player and his new team.
The front was decanted by Atlético Mineiro, among other factors, because the cluband the player signed two separate contracts for sponsorship with the Canadian brandof sports clothes Dry World.
The President of Atletico Mineiro, Daniel Nepomuceno, who announced theagreement with Robinho through a Twitter message, thanked his new sponsor fortheir collaboration in the signing.
Robinho with the Evergrande Chinese League champion was crowned last October,although he came to that club just three months earlier, mid-season, from Santos.
At Atletico Mineiro, Robinho will be under the orders of the Uruguay coach DiegoAguirre and shared bench with Argentines Lucas Pratto and Jesús Dátolo, star of theteam.
In the Copa Libertadores, Atletico Mineiro is in Group 5, beside the Chilean Colo Colo,the Peruvian Melgar and the winner of crossing the first phase between theParaguayan Guarani and the Ecuadorian Independiente del Valle.
